I’m a privately practicing midwife with a strong passion for education and empowering women to make informed, evidence-based decisions about their care. Working within the public system for 11 years means I understand the pressures on the system and how this has a flow on effect to the families we care for.
I WANT TO CHANGE THIS!
My approach focuses on equipping women with knowledge they can take back into their pregnancy or birth, supporting them to feel confident, prepared, and able to advocate for themselves.
I believe choice, respect, and information are the foundations of positive maternity experiences.
I’m also a mum to a busy six-year-old boy, which means that at this stage I’m unable to offer home birth services. However, I am deeply dedicated to education, antenatal and postnatal support, and providing flexible care through in-person and Telemidwife services. I believe knowledge is power, and every woman deserves to feel confident in her choices.
Hi, I’m Teleah…
Why see a Private Midwife if it’s free at the hospital?
Public maternity services play an important role and work well for many families. Engaging a private midwife is not always about replacing hospital care, but about adding an extra layer of personalised support alongside it.
Private midwifery care offers continuity and time — the opportunity for longer, unrushed appointments where education, detailed conversations, and individual questions are prioritised. This allows care to be tailored to you, supporting informed, evidence-based choices rather than a standardised approach.
A key focus of private midwifery is education, advocacy, and empowerment. With a clearer understanding of your options, you can move through the public health system feeling confident, prepared, and supported to communicate your preferences and advocate for yourself during pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period.

At the moment, I do not offer home birth services, as I have a young family still requiring me full time.

A private midwife offers continuity, time, and personalised support that can be difficult to access in busy hospital settings. Appointments are longer and unrushed, allowing space for education, in-depth discussions, and questions that may not fit into standard hospital visits. This supports informed, evidence-based decision-making rather than one-size-fits-all care.
Private midwifery care also focuses on advocacy and empowerment. By gaining a clear understanding of your options, you are better equipped to navigate the public system, communicate your preferences, and advocate for yourself throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period. The goal is not to step outside the system, but to enter it feeling informed, confident, and supported.

In fact, as soon as you get that second line, get in contact!

Pretty cool huh?
