Postnatal Care with a Private Midwife

The early weeks with a new baby can feel overwhelming, especially when support after hospital discharge is limited.

With 60–90 minute postnatal appointments, you have the time and space to talk through feeding, sleep, newborn behavior, your physical recovery, and how you’re coping emotionally. These visits are designed to provide reassurance, practical support and evidence-based guidance during one of the biggest transitions of your life.

You deserve to feel supported, heard and confident as you navigate the first 6 weeks with your baby.

It’s not too late to get support from a midwife! Even if you had a different healthcare provider during pregnancy, I can still support you postnatally.

  • Postnatal visits provide personalised support during the weeks following birth, a time of significant physical, emotional, and lifestyle adjustment. These appointments focus on your recovery, your baby’s wellbeing, and supporting you as you transition into parenthood.

During a postnatal visit, your midwife will check your physical recovery, emotional wellbeing, and offer guidance on newborn care, feeding, and settling. Support may include breastfeeding assistance, infant weight checks, sleep guidance, mental health screening, and answering any questions or concerns you may have. Postnatal care is gentle, respectful, and tailored to your needs — ensuring you feel supported, informed, and confident during the early postnatal period.
